Etymology: From the Utes who give to themeselvs, Nuu-ci, "the People", and Greek, ichthys, "fish" In reference to the discovery of the holotype on what is historically Pahvant 'Ute' territory.
Species: rhynchocephalus LEROSEY-AUBRIL & ORTEGA-HERNANDEZ, 2024
Etymology: Greek, rhynchos, "snout or beak" and Greek, kephale, "head", in reference to the protruding anterior head region.
Holotype: UMNH.IP.6084
Locality: House Range, Utah.
Horizon: Marjum Formation.
Biostratigraphy: Most probably its middle part Ptychagnostus punctuosus agnostoid biozone.
Age: Light-grey shale of the Cambrian.
Material: A complete, relatively large individual on a slab with various other individuals.
