Etymology: In honor of the paleoichthyological contributions of Dmitry Vladimirovich Obruchev, especially Fundamentals of Paleontology, (Obruchev, 1964, 1967).

Species: griffithi GROGAN, LUND & FATH, 2014
Etymology: In honor of the long-standing contributions of the Griffith family, especially Lewie adn Florence, in support of Richard lund and Bear Gulch reserach.

Holotype: CM 48833

Locality: South of Becket, Fergus County, Montana.

Horizon: Bear Gulch Limestone of the Heath Formation, Big Snowy Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Chesterian, Namuerian E2B, Serpukhovian Epoch, Late Mississippian Subperiod, Early Carboniferous Period.

Material: Small specimen part and counterpart.
