Etymology: In memory of David Wake, an eminent evolutionary biologist and transformative mentor, late of the University of California at Berkeley.

Locality: Nunavut Palaeontologicla Expedition site NV0401, 77°10.235’ N, 86°11.129'W, near the eastern arm of Bird Fiord, Southern Ellesmere Island, Nunavut Territory, Canada.
Horizon: Fram Formation, Okse bay Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Frasnian Stage, Late Early Devonian , Late Devonian.
Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary postcrania.
