Genus: Stambergichthys BARKAT, IVANOV, TIHLARIKOVA, OLBERT, & NEDELA, 2024
Etymology: In honor of Stanislov Stamberg (Museum of Eastern Bohemia, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic) for his long-time reserach on the Permo-Carbonifeorus actinopteyrginas from teh European basins, and Greek, ichthys, "fish".
Species: macrodens BARKAT, IVANOV, TIHLARIKOVA, OLBERT, & NEDELA, 2024
Etymology: Greek, makros, "long or large", and Latin, dens "tooth" in reference to the conspicuous teeth of the holotype.
Holotype: UGV PAL00174
Locality: Nyrany, coal mine 13 km southwest of Pilsen, Czech Republic.
Horizon: Main Nyrany Coal Seam, Nyrany Member, Kladno Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Asturian substage, Lates Moscovian Stage, Middle Pennsylvian Subperiod, Late Carboniferus period.
Material: Isoalted right mandible.
