Etymology: In reference to Mount Howitt and the well-known genus Dipterus.

Etymology: In honor of Donna Long, who diligently assisted in field work at Mount Howitt.

Holotype: NMV P181884

Locality: Mount Howitt spur Quarry, Victoria State, Australia.

Horizon: Lower Mudstone, Avon River Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Frasnian Stage, Early Late Devonian Epoch, Late Devonian.

Material: A cranium showing little abnormal fusion or spae caputred between skull roof elements.
