Genus: Amazichthys JOBBINS, RȔCKLIN, FERRON & KLUG, 2022
Etymology: In reference to the North African ethnic group Amazigh (Berber), because the new taxon comes from thier land, and Greek, Ichthys, "fish."

Etymology: In honor of Kate Trinajstic (Perth, Australia), who has contributed gratly to early vertebrate research.

Holotype:AA.MEM.DS.8

Locality: Jebel Aoufial, Rich Bou Kourazia, Rich Bei Ras, Madene El Mrakib, and Khrabis, Sastern Anti-Atlas, Morocco.

Horizon: Thylacocephalan Layer.

Biostratigraphy: Maeneceras genozone.

Age: Middle Famennian stage, Late Devonian Epoch, Late Devonian.

Material: An almost complete skeleton with the external mold of the skull roof and partial inferognathal, near complete thoracic armor, pelvic girdle, with remains of the vertebral column, a lateral enlarged region similar to a shark's lateral keel anterior to the caudal fin and some recent chondrichthyans or teleostes, and a preserved body outline, which displays the dorsal, pectoral, and caudal fins.

Paratypes:

PIMUZ A/I 5141: A near complete well-preserved skull roof, posibly lacking the rostral plate.

PIMUX A/I 4773: External mold of a thoracic armor, scapulocoraocid, laterally enlarged region similar to a shark's lateral keel, remains of the vertebral column, and some of the body outline including a portion of the dorsal fin and a collapsed caudal fin.

PIMUZ A/I 5140: A parial skeleton including an inferognathal and the external mold of a thoracic armor and scapulocoracoid.

AA.MEM.DS.9: Both inferognathals, a partial thoracic armor, a second of the scapulocoraoci with radials, and some traces of vertebral elements.

AA.ME.DS.10: Mold of a partially complete thoracic armor, scapulocorcoid, and some vertebral remains.

AA.MEM.D.11: Partially preserved collapsed skull roof and thoracic armor.
