Etymology: Greek, micros, "tiny," in refernece to the small-sized individual.

Holotype: IVPP V27128A, B

Locality: Biancheng, Hong'an, Xiushan County, Chongqing, China.

Horizon: Xiaoxi Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Ludfordian Stage, Late Ludlow Epoch, Late Silurian.

Material: An articualted fish with skull, cheek, opercular and jaw plates, trunk shield, and pelvic fin squamation.
