Etymology:

Species: diastemacron dos SANTOS, RIFF, RAMOS, RODRIGUES, SCHEFFLER, SUCERQUIA & de ARAUJO CARVALHO, 2024
Etymology: Greek, diastima, "space or interval," and Greek, acron, "extremity, peak or apex".

Holotype: MN 7825-V

Locality: Spot c. 3 m lateral to the base of the profile of Silva et al. (2023) of the Filo Negro (Blackrock Ridge) section, 64°17'24.32"S, 56°44'32.39"W, Seymour (Marambio) Island, James Ross Archipelago, Antarctic Peninsula.

Horizon: Upper part of the unit Klb 9 (sensu Macellari, 988) Molluscan Allomember, Lopez de Bertodano Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Pachydiscus ultimus Zone, MG Sequence (Olivero 2012), Manumiella bertodano Interval Zone/Manumiella druggii Range zone (Bowam et al. 2012; Silva et la. 2023).

Age: Late Maastrichtian Stage, Late Senonian Subepoch, Late Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Incomplete posterolateral tooth of the lower jaw, with only its anterior portion still preserved.
