Etymology: In honor of J. D. Love, whose geologic mapping of the Jackson Hole area provided the stratigraphic framework of the area.

Locality: DMNH Locality #443, Bridger-Teton Wilderness on the east side of the Whetstone Creek, 1067m upstream from confluence of Whetstone and Pacific Creeks, at an elevation of 2304m (NW 1/4, NE 1/4, SW 1/4 of Sec. 10, T46N, R113W, 43°57’54”N, 110°24’39”W, northeast Wyoming.

Horizon: Whetstone Falls Member of Harebell Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian Subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Natural cast of a left footprint with 4 toes.

Paratype: DMNH 5996: Natural cast of right footprint with 4 toes.
