Etymology: Latin, caudatus, "tail"; in refeernce to the clear tail tracies
preserved with the footprints, the track macker is conjectured to have walked or
run with the tail touching the ground and mad traces on the ground.
Holotype: ZJ-B0, ZJ-B1, ZJ-B2
Locality: Wangzhuang Village, Yulin City, north of Shaanxi, Zhizhou County, Shaanxi Province, China.
Horizon: Fuxian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lower Jurassic.
Material: 3 convex imprints preserved on the back side of a cellar cover number as BMNHC Ph001373. Note: Has tail? marks.
Paratype:
ZY-B3, ZY-B3, ZY-B4, ZY-B6, ZY-B8, Zy-B9: 6 convex footprints preserved on a sheepfold fence, numbered as BMNHC Ph001274.
ZL-B2, ZL-B3, ZL-B4: Preseved on a windlass holder, nummbered as BMNHC Ph-1372.
