Etymology: Named after the type locality in Shiramine Village, Greek, sauros, "lizard" and Latin, pus, "foot."

Etymology: In honor of Johannes Justus Rein, who was the first to collect plant fossils from the Tatori Group.

Locality: Roadside cliff called the “Fossil Wall” of Kuwajima in Shiramine Village, Lat. 36°12’N, Log. 136°38’E, Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Central Japan.

Horizon: Kuwajiam Formation, Itoshiro Subgroup, Tetori Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Berriasian Stage, Lower Neocomian Subepoch-Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Etymology: Named after the type locality, Hayashidani, Izumi Village, Honshu Province, Central Japan.

Horizon: Izuki Formation of the Itoshiro Subgroup, Tetori Group.
