Genus: Catutosaurus FERNANDEZ, CAMPOS, MAXWELL & GARRIDO, 2021
Etymology: In reference to the Los Catutos Locality, Neuquen Province, Argentina on which the specimen was found, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Etymology: In honor of Dr. Zulma Gasparini for her significnt contribution to the knowledge of South American Mesozoic herpetofaunas.

Locality: El Ministerio Quarry, Los Catutos area, 38°47'40"S, 70°10'05"W, 17 km northeast Zapala, Zapala Department, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Los Catutos Member, Vaca Muerta Formation (old Picun Leufu Formation).

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle-Early Late Tithonian Stage, Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton.

Locality: In the area of Pampa Tril-Yesera del Tromen, Neuquen Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Los Catutos Member, Vaca Muerta Formation (old Picun Leufu Formation).

MOZ-PV-103: Three-dimensional fragments of a snout and mandible (including the mandibualr symphysis) with teeth.
