Etymology: Greek, delphis, “dolphin” and Greek, sauros, “lizard”:
Dolphin lizard.

= Dilphosaurus kiprianoffi EICHWALD, 1853 (nomen nudum)
Etymology:
In honor of Colonel W. Kiprijanoff for his reserch on the marine reptiles from the Albian-Cenomanian boundary phosphatic sand of the Kursk region, European Russia.

Age: Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous-Cenomanian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Early Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.
Material: Mandible fragments, 12 teeth, partial humerus, 1 rib, 2 centra and an epodial.
Note: These remains may belong to several genera. The teeth are referable to cf. Sisteronia (Fischer et al. 2016).
