Etymology: Greek, eo, "early, dawn," hupeh (alternative spelling of Hubei Province, and Greek, suchos, name for the Egyptian crocodile deity Sobek.

Etymology: Latin, brevis, "short" and Latin, collum,"'neck" in reference to the unusuall short neck for a hupehsuchian.

Holotype: WGSC 26003

Locality: Yangpin, Yuan'an County, Hubei Province, China.

Horizon: Jialingjiang Formation.
