Etymology: n reference to the Muisca people of Colombia, and Greek, sauros, "reptile."

Etymology: The specific epithet catheti means 'perpendicular' and referes to the configuration of the to portions of the narial opening.

Holotype: CIP-FCG-CBP-74

Locality: Vereda Llanitos, Sachica, Boyaca Province, Colombia.

Horizon: Arcillolitas abigarradas Member, Paja Formation..

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Barremian-AptianStage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull, and some postcranial material (partial vertebral column and some ribs).
