Etymology: Latin, parvus, "small" and Latin, caput, "skull": "small skull."

Holotype: AGB5265

Locality: First level of Majiashan Quarry, Chaohu, Anhui Province, China.

Horizon: Bed 719, about 27 m above the bottom of the Upper Member of the Nanlinghu Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Subcolumbites Ammonite zone.

Age: Olenekian, Spathian Stage, Upper Scythian Epoch,  Uppermost Early Triassic.

Material: Skull and nearly complete specimen.
