Species: longignathus DIAS & BARBERENA, 2001
Etymology: Latin, longi, "long" and Greek, gnathus, "jaw";
in reference to the elongated lower jaw.
Holotype: Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, UFRGS PV 0317P
Locality: KM 176 on the BR 153, between Bage and Acegua, Rio Grande do Sul State, South Brazil.
Horizon: Upper levels, Rio do Rasto Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Permian.
Material: Incomplete lower jaw.
