Genus: Brittagnathus AHLBERG & CLACK, 2020
Etymology: In reference to the Britta Dal Formation of the Upper Devonain of East Greenland, where the specimen was collected, and New Latin, gnathus (originally Greek, gnathos), "jaw."

Species: minutus AHLBERG & CLACK, 2020
Etymology: Latin, minutus, "tiny." Reflecting the small size of the specimen.

Holotype: NHMD 116368

Locality: At 800m on the southeast side of Stensio Bjerg, Gauss Peninsula, East Greenland.

Locality: Britta Dal Formation, Celsius Bjerg Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Famennian Stage, Late Devonian Epoch, Late Devonian.

Material: A small complete right lower ramus.
