Etymology: After Pla de la Calma, Teurel Province, Spain, the Catalon toponym for the type locality,
and Greek, suchos, "crocodile."

Etymology: Latin, acre, "hard or strong"; referring to the hardness
of the matrix that surrounds the fossils and makes preparation of the material
difficult.
Holotype: IPS-37401 (LM-83).
Locality: La Mora site, Catalonia basin, Barelona, Teurel Province, Spain.
Horizon: Buntsandstein facies from the Montseny-Llobregat Domain, including in the Areniscas y Lutitas del Figaro unit.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early to Middle Anisian Stage, Lower Mid Triassic Epoch, Lower Middle Triassic.
Material: Partial skull roof and palate.
Paratypes:
IPS-37401 (LM-63, LM-101, L, and M1): Skull fragments.
IPS-42407 (LM-4): Complete hemi-mandible.
