Etymology: In reference to the state of New Mexico.
Holotype: FMNH UC 673
Locality: West side of Puerco River opposite El Rito, New Mexico.
Horizon: Abo Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Wolfcampian Stage, Lower Rotliegendes Epoch, Early Permian.
Material: Skull and associated postcranial material including femora, humeri, scapulae, pelvis, section of vertebral column and armor.
Referred material:
YPM 810: Skull with articulated vertebral column, dermal armor, and miscellaneous skeletal elements.
Locality: Camp quarry V-2814, 1 mile southeast of Arroyo de Agua, Rio Arriba County, New Mexico.Horizon: Abo Formation.
