Etymology: In reference to the Gai-As Formation, Cisuralian, Early Permian.

Etymology: In honor of Jenny Clack (1947-2020) for her landmark accomplishments in the study of early tetrapods.

Holotype: GSNF-1528

Locality: Nor of Doros which is on the northern marign of the Ugab River valley in southern Kunene region, Huab Basin, northwestern Nambia.

Horizon: Lower third of the Gai-As Formation, Karoo Supergroup.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Kungurian Stage, Late Cisuralian subepoch, Late Rotligendes Epoch, Late Early Permian.

Material: Skull in assocation with mandibles with the anterior third of the axial skeleton.

Paratypes:

GSN F-1522: Partial skull including part of a palate, braincase and skull roof.

GSN F-1504: Anterior half of a palate.

Referred material:

GSN F-311: Skull fragments, including a left palatine and a nearly complete left exoccipital, and series of partially articualted vertebral centra.
