Etymology: In reference to the state of Texas.

Holotype: FMNH UR 702

Locality: Kahn Quarry, loc. KAC, Driver Ranch (McMayden Ranch?), Knox County, Texas.

Horizon: Bed 3, Upper part of the San Angelo Formation, Peace River Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Late Permian.

Material: Fragments of skull, intercentra, vertebral arch, ribs, clavicle, partial interclavicle, and fragments of limb bones.

Referred material:

Locality: Little Croton Creek, MacFayden Ranch (south), Knox County, Texas.

Horizon: Upper part of the San Angelo Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Late Permian.
