Etymology: In reference to the Bromacker (which translates to Brom's Fiedl in English) is the name of the loclaity that the specimen was discovered at,
and Greek, erpeton, "creeper."
Species: subcolossus MacDOUGALL, JANNEL, HENRICI, BERMNA, SUMIDA, MARTENS, FRÖBISCH & FRÖBISCH,, 2024
Etymolgy: Latin words for below and colossus, referring to the small size of this specis relative to the abundant and much larger vertebrates of the fauna.
Holotype: MNG 16545
Locality: Bromacker Locality in the middle of the Thuringian Forest near Gotha, Thuringen State, Central Germany.
Horizon: Tambach Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lowermost unit of the upper Rotliegend Epoch, Early Permian, Artinskian in age based on biostratigraphy, but potentially could be as old as early Sakmarian/late Asselian.
Material: Partial skull and mandible with left humerus and largely complete right forelimb.
