Genus: Atokasaurus NYDAM & CIFELLI, 2002 (b)
Etymology: In reference to Atoka County, Oklahoma, where the specimen was recovered and Greek, sauros, ‘lizard’: Atoka lizard.

Species: metarsiodon NYDAM & CIFELLI, 2002
Etymology: Greek, metarsios, "high up" and Greek, odous, "tooth": in reference to the implantation of the teeth above subdental gutter.

Holotype: OMNH 60535

Locality: OMNH V706, southwest Akota County, Oklahoma.

Horizon: Antlers Formation, Upper unit.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cashenranchian age, Lower-Middle Albian Stage, middle Gallic subepoch, lower Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Broken right dentary with 1 tooth.
