Etymology:

Holotype: MPN 539

Locality: "Civita di Pietraroja", La Cavere outcrop, Pietraoia, Matese Mountains, Benvenento Province , Italy.

Horizon: Upper Plattenkalk horizon.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Albian Stage, middle Gallic subepoch, lower Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull and skeleton and partial counterpart.

Note: Has osteoderms around the orbit, and small patches around the left maxilla, on the front of the parietal, and over the right squamosal and quadrate (EVANS, RAIA & BARBERA, 2006)
