Etymology: Greek, ktenos, "comb" and Greek, mastax, "jaw"; comb’jaw; referring to the comblike arrangement of the marginal teeth of this lizard.

Etymology: Latin, parvus, "little."

Holotype: IGM 3/61 (MAE 89/93-70)

Locality: Zos, Nemegt Basin, Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolian Gobi Desert.

Horizon: Djadochta Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Incomplete skull with partial right and clear impression of the left mandible.
