Etymology: Greek, heteros-, "different," and Greek, odontos, "tooth" ; referring to the dramatical change in tooth shape between anterior, middle, and posterior marginal dentition as well as in the pterygoid tooth row.

Locality: Sidi Daoui Area, Oulad Abdoun Basin, Morocco.

Horizon: Upper Couche III.
