Etymology: From Hakusan, the mountain that gives its name to the region and to Kakusan City, Honshu Island, Japan.

Holotype: SBEI 1568

Locality: 'Kaseki-Kabe', or fossil cliff, Kuwyajima, Kakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan.

Horizon: Kuwajima Formation, Itoshiro Subgroup, Tetori Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Neocomian Stage, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Part and counter part of an articulated partial skeleton comparisinsg parts of the dorsal vertebral series, and parts of the tail, pelvis and hind limbs.
