Etymology: Kuwajima is the type locality of the Kuwajima Formation, and is the new name of the region of Hakusan City in which the deposit is located (formerly Shiramine Village), Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan.

Etymology: From Kaga, the old Japanese name for Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan.

Holotype: SBEI 1550

Locality: ‘Kaseki-Kabe’, or fossil cliff at Kuwajima, Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Honshu Island, Japan.

Horizon: Kuwajima Formation, Itoshiro Subgroup, Tetori Group.

Material: Incomplete right maxilla with associated parts of the right prefrontal.
