Etymology: In reference to Liaoning Province, China where the specimen was discovered and Latin, lacerta, "Lizard."
Species: brevirostra JI, 2004
Etymology:
Latin, brevi, "short" and Latin, rostra, "snout."
Holotype: GM V 1580
Locality: Huangbanjigou, Beipiao, Western Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Cretaceous.
Material: Skull, and skeleton missing its rigth forelimb and mid to posterior caudals.
Note: With skin impressions.
