Genus: Monocnemodon NYDAM, 2013
Etymology: Greek, mono, "single, one," Greek, knemos, "shoulder" and Greek, odous, "tooth"; in recognition of the expanded and shoulder-like crista mesials of the tooth crown.

Species: syphakos NYDAM, 2013
Etymology: Greek, syphax, "sweet new wine"; in recognition of the productive evengins with J. Eaton discussing the Cretaceous of southern Utah.

Holotype: UMNH VP 17384

Locality: UMNH Locality 424, within Bryce Canyon National Park, Garfield County, Utah.

Horizon: John Henry Member, Straight Cliffs Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Santonian Stage,  Senonian Sub-epoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: A partial right dentary lacking teh anteriormost and posteriormost portions of the elemtns. It preserves 9, closeliy spaced tooth positions, 2 complete/nearly complete teeth.
