Etymology:
Greek, paleo, "ancient," Greek, sinco referring to its scincomoprh affinities,
and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: pharkidodon NYDAM & FITZPATRICK, 2009
Etymology: Greek, pharcido, "wrinkle" and Greek, odous, "tooth": In reference
to the 'wrinkled' appaearance of the tooth crowns resulting from abundant strae
on the medial and lateral surfaces of the crowns.
Holotype: OMNH 33855
Locality: OMNH locality V9, approximately 26 km southeast of the town of Henrieville, Kane County, Utah.
Horizon: Lower Kaiparowits Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Judithian age, Late Campanian Stage, Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Incomplete left dentary with 4 teeth in situ.
