Etymology: In reference to the Gobi Desert, Mongolia.

Locality: Hermiin Tsav (Khermeen Tsav), western Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.
Horizon: Barun Goyot Formation, = Red Beds of Khermeen Tsav.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Middle Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Damaged skull lacking anterior part of snout, most of brain case, and both supratemporal arches, both mandibles preserved but right lacks coronid and postcoronoid ramus.

ZPAL MgR/III-31: Damaged skull lacks anterior part of snout and most of skull roof, preserved parts include brain case, damaged right mandible and right epipterygoid with missing dorsal process.
ZPAL MgR/III-72: Damaged skull of a small specimen with both mandibles and several cervical vertebrae.
ZPAL MgR/III-33: Skull with left mandible intact and several cervical vertebrae of a juvenile.
ZPAL MgR/III-83: Fragment of mandible lacking both the anterior portion of precoroniod ramus and posterior portion of postcoronoid ramus.
