Species: gobiensis BORSUK-BIALYNICKA & MOODY, 1984
Etymology: In reference to the Gobi Desert, Mongolia.

Holotype: ZPAL MgR/III-32

Locality: Hermiin Tsav (Khermeen Tsav), western Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.

Horizon: Barun Goyot Formation, = Red Beds of Khermeen Tsav.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Damaged skull lacking anterior part of snout, most of brain case, and both supratemporal arches, both mandibles preserved but right lacks coronid and postcoronoid ramus.

Referred material:

ZPAL MgR/III-31: Damaged skull lacks anterior part of snout and most of skull roof, preserved parts include brain case, damaged right mandible and right epipterygoid with missing dorsal process.

ZPAL MgR/III-72: Damaged skull of a small specimen with both mandibles and several cervical vertebrae.

ZPAL MgR/III-33: Skull with left mandible intact and several cervical vertebrae of a juvenile.

ZPAL MgR/III-83: Fragment of mandible lacking both the anterior portion of precoroniod ramus and posterior portion of postcoronoid ramus.

Horizon: Djadochta Formation.

Material:

ZPAL MgR/II-77: Fragmentary skull lacking brain case and large portion of the left side lacking nasals and premaxilla, both mandibles preserved.

Horizon: Djadochta Formation or the Barun Goyot Formation.

Age: Middle – Upper Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material:

IGM 3/77 (MAE 62/93-153), 3/78 (MAE 120/93-93): Incomplete skulls with mandibles.
