Etymology: The name Saniwides indicates the similarity to the North American, Eocene genus Saniwa Leidy, 1870.

Etymology: In reference to Mongolia, where the specimen was found.

Locality: Khulsan, Nemegt Basin, Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.

Horizon: Barun Goyot Formation.
