Etymology: After the village of Vallecillo, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, where
the quarrymen live who unearthed the specimen, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: donrobertoi SMITH & BUCHY, 2008
Etymology: In honor of Don Roberto Gonzales Vasquez, the quarry owner who preserved
the specimen and kindly donated it to the UANL-FCt.
Holotype: UANL-FCT-R27 ("Pablo")
Locality: Commercial quarry near Vallecillo, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico.
Horizon: Agua Nueva Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Partial postcranial skeleton with integumentary structures on the tail and abdomen.
