Etymology: In honor of Zhao Dayu, one of the founders of the Liaoning Paleontological
Museum.

Locality: Zhuanchengzi locality, near Yizhou, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Zhuanchengzi Bed, Yixian Formation, Jehol Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Middle Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: Skull and skeleton.
