Species: aquilonia GAO & HUO, 1995
Etymology: Latin, aquilonius, "northern," in reference to the northern
continental occurrence of this early iguanid.
Holotype: IVPP V10030
Locality: Bayan Mandahu, Urad Houqi, Inner Mongolia, China.
Horizon: Djadochta Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Middle Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Disarticulated skull elements and mandible, vertebral column (15 dorsals, 2 sacrals, 2 1/2 caudals, nearly complete pelvis, and right hindlimb.
