Etymology: In honor of Mr. Charles Dawson, who was the first man to search
deliberately for mammalian teeth in the Wealden.
Holotype: BMNH M 23345
Locality: Cliff End, Near Winchelsea, Sussex County, England, Southern United Kingdom.
Horizon: Bone-bed in Fairlight Clay.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Wealden, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A complete crown of a left lower molar.
