Genus: Arundelconodon CIFELLI, LIPKA, SCHAFF & ROWE, 1999
Etymology: Arundel, Price Georges County, Maryland, in reference to the fossil-yielding unit, and Greek, conodon, "cone-tooth" is a commonly –used suffix for genera of tricondontids and primitive mammals in general, in allusion to the pattern of cusps on molariforms.

Species: hottoni CIFFELLI, LIPKA, SCHAFF & ROWE, 1999
Etymology: In honor of Nicholas J. Hotton, in recognition of his lifelong contributions to vertebrate paleontology.

Holotype: USNM 497749

Locality: USNM locality 41615, Cherokee-Sanford brick clay pit east of US route 1 and south of Contee Road, Muirkirk, Price Georges County, Maryland.

Horizon: Arundel Formation, Potomac Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Upper Aptian-Lower Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Right mandibular ramus with two ultimate premolars (perhaps p3-4) and m1-3.
