Etymology: In reference to Atoka County, Oklahoma, source of the only know specimens(s), and Greek, theridion, "small beast."

Species: boreni KIELAN-JAWOROWSKA & CIFELLI, 2001
Etymology: In honor of David L. Boren, in recognition of his support of the OMNH.

Holotype: OMNH V61623

Locality: Tomato Hill (OMNH locality V706), Atoka County, Oklahoma.

Horizon: Antlers Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cashenranchian age, Aptian or Albian Stage, middle Gallic subepoch, lower Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Right upper molar.
