Etymology: In reference to Beckum, urban district of the town of Balve, next to the Busche Quarry where Beckumia gen. nov. was found.

Locality: Fissure filling within the Busche Quarry near Balve, Sauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia State, Germany.

Material: Left mandible with strongly worn m2-m5 present, other or broken off postmortem.
