Etymology: Condor, after the village of Cerro Condor located close to the Queso
Rallado quarry,
Chubut Province, Argentina, that yielded the specimen, and Greek, odon, "tooth."

Etymology: Greek, spanios, "scarce, rare."
Holotype: MPEF-PV 2365
Locality: Queso Rallado locality, 5.5 km northwest of the Cerro Condor Village, Chubut Province, Argentina.
Horizon: Lower membr of the Canadon Asfalto Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Early Jurassic.
Material: Isolated complete lower left molariform.
