Etymology:
Latin, erythro, "red, reddish," referring to the color of the type specimens, and Mongolian, Baatar, 'hero' a common suffix fo rgeneric names of cimolodontan multituberculates.

Etymology: Chinese pinyin, gan, a Chinese character that is the short form for Ganzhou Province.
Holotype: GM30516
Locality: Ganzhou railway station, Ganzhou City, Ganxian County, Jiangxi Province, China.
Horizon: Hekou Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Maastrichtian Stage, Late Senonian Subepoch, Late Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: Nearly complete skull and dentary, tip of coronoid process broken, and some postcranial elements including incomplete right forelimb, left and right hind limbs and some vertebrae and ribs.
