Etymology: In honor of Kenneth A. Kermack, vertebrate paleontologist University College of London, in recognition of his contributions to the knowledge of Mesozoic Mammals.

Etymology: In reference to the state of Texas, where the specimen was found.

Locality: Butler Farm, 5km northwest of Decatur, 230 m northeast of U. S. Highway 81, on the property of Mr. Lee Butler, Wise County, North-Central Texas.

Horizon: About 30 m below the Antlers Formation, Trinity Group.
