Etymology: In honor of Zophia Kielan-Jaworowska, Polish paleontologist and Greek, therion, “beast, mammal”: Kielan-Jaworowska’s beast.

Species: gobiensis DASHZEVEG, 1975
Etymology: In reference to the Gobi desert, Mongolia, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: GO PST 10-14

Locality: Höövör (Khovboor, Khoboor, Khobur, Khoobur), Guchin Us Somon, Aryaykher aymak, Gobi Desert, Mongolia.

Horizon: Höövör (Khovboor) Beds, Züünbayan ( = Dzun Bayan, = Dzunbain) Svita (Alterantively referred to as Khulsangol ( = Khulsyngol) or Döshuul ( = Dushuul, - Dushi Ula) Svita.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: ?Aptian or Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Lower molar.
