Etymology: Malagasy, Miolaka (MYOU-la-ka), "curved," in reference to the shape of the cheek teeth.

Locality: MAD96-01, near the village of Berivotra, Mahajanga Basin, Mahajanga Province, Madagascar.

Material: Relative complete but worn cheek-tooth.
