Etymology: Greek, oneirodes, "dreamlike", refers to the dreamlike fossil discovery that fills the gap in the middle ar evolution of early therians.

Holotype: IVPP 24190A,B (part and counterpart)

Locality: Yangjiaogou, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, China.

Horizon: Jiufotang Fromation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Skull and fragmentary skeleton.
