Etymology: In reference to Patagonia and Greek, rhynchus, "nose."

Etymology: In honor of teh Argentine paleomammalogist Rosendo Pascual (1923-2012), who described teh first Cenozoic monotreme remains from Patagonia, thus demostrating teh presence of this clade outside of Australia.

Holotype: MPM-PV-23087

Locality: La Anita farm, S 50°639', W72°33.617’, Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Chorrillo Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Early Maastrichtian Stage, Late Senonian Subepoch, Late Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Right lower m2 attached to a fragmetn of a dentary.
