Etymology: Tendaguru, name of a dinosaur locality situated in southeastern Tanzania, East Africa, Therium, Latinized form of the Greek word therion, “wild beast”: Tendaguru wild beast.

Species: dietrichi HEINRICH, 1998
Etymology: In honor of Wilhelm-Otto Dietrich (1881-1964), who was the first to fully describe and name a mammal from the Mesozoic of Africa.

Locality : Tendaguru site Jg, Tendaguru, southeastern Tanzania, East Africa.

Horizon: Tendaguru Series, Middle Saurian Bed.

Material: Fragment of a right dentary with last molar.
