Genus: Tribactonodon SIGOGNEAU-RUSSELL, HOOKER & ENSOM, 2001
Etymology: Allusion to the configuration (trib) and the locality of origin (Acton) of the tooth (odon).

Species: bonfieldi SIGOGNEAU-RUSSELL, HOOKER & ENSOM, 2001
Etymology: In honor of Mr. Harold Bonfield, from whose quarry at Acton the samples were collected and from which the holotype came.

Holotype: BMNH M51816

Locality: From a small quarry near Acton, NGR SY 990 778, circa 3 km west south west of Swanage, Dorset County, England, Southern United Kingdom.

Horizon: Intermarine Member, Purbeck Limestone Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Berriasian Stage, Lowermost Neocomian Subepoch, Lowermost Early Crateceous Epoch, Earliest Cretaceous.

Material: A right lower molar.
